With over 25 years in the high tech industry and a strong background in marketing and management, Steve Moore decided to create his own Start Up company, SPM Business Solutions, three years ago. As he began the search for office space he compared his options. “With a permanent office cost was a major factor” he said. “Having support staff in place in addition to the office costs was also a big commitment for a startup.”
In addition, he had some concerns about location. A traditional office that was also cost effective would place him far, far away from his business nerve center of Cupertino, and therefore far away from his target market – business owners. His business helps companies get more customers and make more money using new ideas and strategies. His ability to grow his own business would be significantly reduced if he was located too far away from potential clients.
However, the Pacific Workplaces office space in Cupertino provided a great location and a perfect solution for SPM Business Solutions, particularly the large conference rooms. “I did small seminars while I was getting going,” he said, “and it was the perfect layout for me. It was very professional but still intimate – so it was great for both presentations and training.”
As Moore has grown his company, he has relied on the Cupertino office space location for client meetings and seminars three to four times per month. He noted that a lot of consultants try to hold meetings in their client’s offices, but having them come to him in the Cupertino location has been very beneficial for business. “Clients are very impressed with the facility,” Moore shared, “And it has easy access from the freeway and is centrally located so it’s a great location.”
He encourages new business owners to review the return on investment of a permanent office space and using that as a frame of reference to compare to shared office space. “If you’re actually spending more time at your home office – then having a permanent office is a waste of money,” he said. With this solution, you’re free to focus on your business instead of maintaining a professional office environment.”
