When Polaris Wine was looking for a way to be two places at once, Pacific Business Centers’ new HD Video Conferencing service provided the perfect platform. On May 17th, the wine making company held an event simultaneously in Pennsylvania and California to educate their sales people and experience a new vintage of wine together.

Pacific Business Centers Video ConferencingPolaris Wines is a winemaking company based in Napa, California. This “Winery Without Walls” was a perfect candidate for Pacific Business Centers’ HD Video Conferencing services. Having a virtual wine tasting was a matter of practicality. With sales teams in Pennsylvania and California, Marketing and Sales Manager Oliver Portet had to think outside of the bottle.

“I’m traveling a lot and simply cannot be in Pennsylvania and California at the same time, and I manage sales across the country as well. With the launch of our new vintage Argentine wine, Nandú, I needed to think creatively,” says Oliver.

At the video conference event, Oliver introduced Nandú to their distributor’s sales force to educate them on the nuances of the new vintage.

“Using Pacific Business Centers’ HD Video Conferencing allowed me to tell the story of our wines efficiently to our sales team, even though they are spread out across the country,” says Oliver, “It’s not very often that you can taste wines with about 100 people in 3 different locations across 2 time zones – plus it was fun!”

Polaris Wines has been making wines since 2009 under the direction of master winemaker Bernard Portet. Portet has been making wine on four continents for over 40 years and served as the founding winemaker of Clos du Val in Napa Valley. After retiring from Clos du Val, he looked for a new challenge and founded Polaris Wines with Don Chase.

A 9th generation wine maker, Portet has developed limited production wines in two locations under the Polaris Wines banner.

Heritance Wine is created in Napa Valley, California and includes a Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their inaugural vintage was launched in summer 2011.

Nandú has been produced in Mendoza, Argentina since 2003. The current vintage Malbec 2009 is Portet’s 6th vintage.

The Nandú tasting event is just one unique use of Pacific Business Centers’ HD Video Conferencing system, managed by InConference. InConference handles all video conferencing bookings throughout the Pacific Business Centers Video Network. High-definition video enabled conference centers are available at the San Jose, San Mateo, Palo Alto, Cupertino, Sacramento, Bakersfield and Walnut Creek, California locations.
