We have another great personality to share to add to our ‘Meet the Team’ series. Tracy Wilson is Managing Partner for Pacific Workplaces (a.k.a. Pac) with a primary focus on our Sacramento, California and Nevada regions. Tracy is also the Chief Operations Officer for our sister company CloudVO that provides a global network of workspace providers. Read on to see how Tracy practically grew-up in the shared workspace industry.

Tell everyone how you got started in the shared workspace industry and your path to Pac.
I started in this industry young … very young. My father started an executive suite in the Bay Area in the 1970s. In junior high, high school and college I was put to work anytime I was off school. I never thought I’d do this for a living, but working with my dad was a great experience. After my father sold his locations to a company that eventually rolled into Regus, I left the business. I was lured back in by my partners, Laurent Dhollande and Scott Chambers in 2006 and the rest is history.

What is the most challenging part about your job?
There are so many exciting directions that an operator can take in this business, and so many ‘flavors’ that can make up a center and community. I get excited about the possibilities and then tend to get a bit bogged down by execution. I think that is referred to as ‘following the shiny ball.’ Either way, it keeps my enthusiasm up for the industry I am in. There’s so much possibility every day.

Any memorable Pac experiences?
I have quite a few, some good some bad. However, the first thing that comes to mind is our annual PAC Day events. Getting to do something new and different and experiential with all the PAC-mates is always so much fun.

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?
I love, love, love to chat.  In this business, there is no dearth of very interesting people with whom I want to chat.

What ‘superpowers’ do you draw on keep things in perspective?
Be Nice.
